ABOUT THE OWNER.........

Master Craftsman Robert Pascoe has been working with wood for
over 40 years, starting with built-in furniture in his boyhood home.
“Woodworking has provided me with a creative outlet throughout
the years,” he says. Following retirement from IBM, Pascoe turned
his passion into a successful business, with his work highlighted in
outlets in Salado and Georgetown.

Demand for his product strained the capacity of his home-based
workshop. Moving to a location that provides separate and adequate
room for his assembly and finishing processed, along with a retail
gallery, became a necessity. The old MK&T railroad depot, located
at the corner of First and East Street in downtown Belton, Texas,
provided the right mix of space and charm, and Pascoe moved in
during the su
mmer of 2002.  Pascoe noted, “Not only was the
physical space just right, the exceptional woodwork in the 100+
year old building blends with our ‘extraordinary woodworks’
theme.”

Success again became the motivation for another move. Pascoe has
hand built the Salado Sawmill, located at 409 Salado Plaza Drive in
Salado, Texas at the entrance to the Mill Creek subdivision.
Designed to Pascoe's strict requirements, and constructed using an
old-fashioned post and beam technique, the Sawmill has storage for
wood products, ample room for the tools of the trade and a
separate, well ventilated finish room. The location also has a
showroom where you can see first hand the skills of the craftsman.
There’s even an apartment upstairs.

Pascoe will build to your specification. “I would rather do custom
work,” Pascoe says. “Making the same piece over and over again
becomes monotonous. Custom pieces offer design challenges and
learning experiences.” Pascoe says that clients seek out custom
furniture shops for several reasons. They are often seeking
something to fit into a specific space or match another piece they
already own. They may have seen a piece that is no longer available
from the manufacture or an antique they would like to duplicate.
“Most importantly,” he observes, “customers want a quality piece,
designed and built by someone who is passionate about the process.”

Pascoe signs each piece with the phrase "For my children",
stressing that the quality he puts into his creations will last for
generations.
